Shawn and Lanessa both originate from Alamogordo, NM where they were high school sweethearts before marrying in 1998. They have two girls: Traeh and Kaidance. Shawn and Lanessa were both involved in ministry as youth, a passion that has evolved through the years. The early years of ministry as a married couple included traveling with an Evangelist and then full time youth ministry in Hobbs, NM & Rio Rancho, NM.
In November of 2008, God called them to Los Alamos where they are continuing to put into practice their passion for worship and for people. Through their ministry and the family of New Beginnings God has grown the church from 7 in 1998 to 200 today. Shawn and Lanessa know that God can change a life and want to continue reaching the least, the last and the lost of Los Alamos.

Gwen was raised in Tucumcari, New Mexico and was the children's pastor in nearby Alamogordo from 1987–1997. In addition to directing musicals and developing a Saturday outreach ministry, Gwen saw her ministry grow to almost 200 kids. Gwen and her husband, JK, moved to Albuquerque in 1998.
Gwen jumped back into being a children's pastor in Rio Rancho from 1999 to 2001, after which she took a break to help with the family business. In 2003, she once again became a children's pastor for a group that also grew to about 200 children; she continued pastoring there until 2008.
She is currently splitting her time between living in Albuquerque and Los Alamos, where she has been the children's pastor for New Beginnings since December 2008. Although being close to her grandchildren, Traeh and Kaidance, is a bonus, her main desire is to minister to kids weekly at their level (and we’re not talking about her height).
